The family Cyperaceae is represented in Pakistan by 22 genera and 179 species, many as weeds. Abildgaardia, Actinoscirpus, Blysmus, Bolboschoenus, Bulbostylis, Cladium, Cyperus, Eleocharis, Eriophorum, Erioscirpus, Fimbristylis, Fuirena, Isolepis, Kyllinga, Lipocarpha, Pycreus, Schoenoplectus, Schoenus, Scirpoides, Trichophorum are treated for subfamily Cyperoideae; Kobresia and Carex are considered for subfamily Caricoideae. Keys to the genera and species are included, as well as 36 botanical illustrations and a grid map to Pakistan’s districts.
